Synopsis

But she’s a woman on a mission to uncover the truth, and she’d better keep her eyes open or the next body on the way to the morgue could be hers.

My Review:

This was a surprising cozy to me.  It deals with a type of murder that probably happens all to often, and one we don't really think a lot about.  I really enjoyed this read, it was very well written and had some humorous parts in it.  Charmaine is working at her aunt and uncle's diner, when she makes a delivery to the courthouse, the coroner, Frankie, sets up a job interview for her to be an assistant.  She gets the job and on her first day, Frankie sends her to the hospital to take a statement from the doctor on duty about a suspicious death.  Charmaine then starts looking into the deaths of several elderly people in the last year.  When her aunt is suddenly taken to the hospital will Charmaine be able to keep her safe and figure out what is really going on.  During her investigations she is continually be warned to stop investigating by the local detective, Steve Sixkiller.  There is a lot of chemistry between the two also.  I say great job with this story Wendy.  I look forward to reading more in the Working Stiffs Mystery Series.
